Acoustic Magic Inc. announced today that its Voice Tracker™ I array microphone has been certified for use with Zoom’s cutting edge VoIP and video conferencing systems.

“We have tested the Voice Tracker™ I microphone and found that its long pickup range and wide field of view significantly enhance the audio performance of our system,” said Nick Chong, Head of Product Marketing for Zoom. “It enables large groups to participate, and it does so at a reasonable cost.”

Bob Feingold, President of Acoustic Magic, noted that testing indicated that Zoom’s AEC is good enough to allow the use of the Voice Tracker™ I rather than the Voice Tracker™ II (which has a built-in AEC). The ability to use the Voice Tracker™ I will reduce costs for customers.

Zoom has nearly two million participants, 5,500 meetings a day, and 100 million meeting minutes, making it the fastest growing company in its industry. Zoom’s rapid market acceptance is due to its affordable, feature-rich service, which includes HD video, audio, and screen sharing, and the ability to have up to 25 participants meet.

The Voice Tracker™ I array microphone has become the industry standard for classroom lecture capture because it can pick up questions from the class as well as lecture from the professor as he or she moves around the room. It has an effective range of 30-foot, with a 360 degree field of view. The Voice Tracker™ I is simple to use and highly reliable. It has no battery or crosstalk issues. Now, due to Acoustic Magic’s partnership with Zoom, this performance can be used for VoIP and video conferencing.

The Voice Tracker™ I can be used with PCs, and (with its USB adapter) with Macs. It has a list price of $249, and the USB adapter has a list price of $50.
